Woo! This is going to be my first post, and it is going to be about World of Warcraft's Transmogrification feature, a new thing since patch 4.3.
It's the ability to turn the look of your current "proper" gear into something else that you prefer. And I am quite glad the introduced this now, because holy hell I really do not like the look of Tier 13 Priest. Some elements of V for Vendetta in there, I reckon:
Apart from Tier 9 (which shared the look with Warlocks and Mages), I really didn't mind wearing raid gear from all the other Priest tiers. They kind of showcase what content you're progressing in or working on, and that's really not a bad thing if you're a little bit in the front of the pack. Showcasing your actual raid gear gives you an automatic "/flex" without doing it blatantly.
But of course, over time I've developed some favorite bits of gear that I wish I could wear again while pewpewing a raid boss. And some days, I just kind of want to look different from all the other priests raiding the same content. I've gone through 2 transmog sets so far.
First up, the "rogue with a staff" look.
I really wanted to wear my Vile Fumigator's Mask with this outfit, and constantly have my oozeling pet out... but Blizzard has set limits as to what kind of gear you can transmog into. And the Mask isn't within that limit. Neither are weapons in the shape of fish or frying pans. Greatly disappointing really, because if you're not wearing your raiding gear, you'd want to wear something fun... and the mask and the frying pans are fun things, why wont't they let us use it? Sigh.
So anyway, for my first set above I chose the Netherweave crafted set. I had feared that every priest on the server would be going for full T5 or T6, so I figured I would go with a non-dressy look. Coupled with my Mekgineer's Chopper and some random scrub-looking staff, I reckon it was a pretty good deviation from regular raiding gear.
The tentacle wand (from the new instances) was the least shiney wand I had that could keep with the theme. I'm thinking maybe I should go to Karazhan and find that druid staff to go with the wand.
After a few days though, I really felt like going back to my favorite angel-themed casual RP gear.
I do like my T5 wings! The rest of Tier 5, not so much. The halo is from Tier 7 Naxxramas gear. The dress is a Mooncloth Robe, the gloves are a quest reward. I have yet to find an appropriate belt for this dress and so I just wear my current ones.
I have a sparkly star-on-a-stick for a wand, and chose the same scrub staff as the other outfit. I really want the T5-head-on-a-stick staff from Gurtogg Bloodboil in Black Temple, but the damn thing never drops for me! And I also wished I had the T6 recolored helm off Teron Gorefiend, but that doesn't ever drop for me, either. I'm going to keep trying though, as I do love cowl-style helms, and this one especially because it also has a halo.
For my land mount while transmogged into this outfit, I'm either on a Zhevra, or this Gilneas horse.
If I get tired of this set, though, I will probably wear Tier 8 next. Or, I dunno, some other random set.
